Why I chose engineered wood flooring

One of the major things we looked at when refurbishing our house after a fire in our kitchen was to work with our builder and look into choosing something that works with our busy lifestyle and hectic schedules.  With two kids, two adults and four dogs, we’ve got to find something that not only looks good, and cleans easily but can be hardwearing and isn’t something that deteriorates after a couple of years of use.  So we chose engineered wood flooring.

It’s hardwearing and lightweight system that interlock with other pieces of flooring to form a solid flooring that we were told could have under floor heating or padded underlay, depending on what we wanted to do with our room.  It was also highlighted to us that the floor would be hardwearing and easy to care for, which was another important element of our choice – with the amount of dirt that the children and dogs track in, having flooring in the kitchen that was difficult or impossible to clean, no matter how good looking would be pointless, so we ensured that our engineered wood flooring was perfect for our needs at all times.  It was vital too, to ensure that we liked the flooring choices we had – and with the wide range of colours and finishes, we were delighted.
